Special Interest Lodges
Finding the Right Freemasonry for You
Formed by members to enjoy their shared interests and hobbies, there are many special interest Lodges you can join in Freemasonry throughout the country to enrich the social calendar.
From football to rugby, through to military and emergency services to list but a few, special interest Lodges are another great way of meeting new people and there is almost certainly something for everyone.
Special interest Lodges were historically formed through a common interest or purpose and they continue to exist today. The latest Lodge formed in East Kent is the Motorcylce Lodge, No 10048.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the special interest Lodges we have throughout the county.

Fleur de Lis Lodge 8969 was consecrated on the 19th of January 1981 and was established by several Freemasons who were involved in the Scouting Movement. Specifically set up to support young people in our area, this now includes baby care units at hospitals, hospices, Demelza House, Kent Association for the Blind, Prostate Cancer, the Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance, Time for the Homeless, Maidstone Homeless Care, British Heart Foundation, cancer charities and many more. We continue to contribute to Scouting and Guiding units locally.

Music Lodge
Sir Edward Elgar Lodge.
Our objective is to “celebrate the heritage & gift of music” and, as the flagship music Lodge for the Province of East Kent, we support the Provincial Choir, encourage and support new organists, and all musicians and singers. If possible, we provide emergency players and/or singers for Installations, Master’s Songs and Ladies’ Songs.
