Become a Freemason
Here’s How
Joining couldn’t be easier
Even if you don’t know anyone who is a member, all you need to do is to complete the membership enquiry form. We will then get in touch with you, talk you throught the process of joining, and take time to explain what Freemasonry is, what it means to be a Freemason, and finally find you a suitable lodge.
You will be in good company
Becoming a Freemason in East Kent means you’ll be joining about 4,500 members from all backgrounds. The organisation’s aim is to empower members to be the best they can be – it’s about building character, supporting members as individuals and helping them make a positive contribution to society.
We have more than 120 Lodges in East Kent, with any man over the age of 18 welcome to join, irrespective of their race or religion. Students are also able to join through the University Scheme.
Armed Forces Members
Here in East Kent, like many of our fellow Counties, we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, making sure we help our Armed Forces Community and members of our Province here in East Kent.
The long-standing and close relationship between Freemasonry and the Armed Forces stems from a strong alignment of values and the social structure Freemasonry provides, which often appeals to service members.
Whether still serving or having left the services, and getting out of the uniform, many veterans seek to replicate the strong brotherhood and support network found in military life.
Women’s Freemasonry
Women are invited to join one of two female-only Grand Lodges: The Order of Women Freemasons and Freemasonry for Women. (The Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons)
