Event Type

The Province of East Kent Communications Team is pleased to offer a practical hands-on workshop designed to help Lodges and Chapters confidently use social media to share their story and communicate with the public .

Social media has become an important way for Freemasons to highlight their charity work, community involvement and the vibrant life of our Lodges. This workshop will introduce the basics of how to use social media effectively while following the guidance and policies of the Province and United Grand Lodge of England.

During the session we will cover:
  • Which social media platforms work best for Lodges and Chapters
  • What type of content works well and engages the public
  • The do’s and don’ts of talking about Freemasonry online
  • Provincial and  UGLE guidelines  for social media
  • Tips for photography, design and writing posts
  • How to grow your account.

The workshop is designed to be practical and accessible for everyone, regardless of experience.

HANDS-ON CLINIC

At the end of the session we will run a practical hands-on clinic designed to help attendees set up a Lodge or Chapter social media account from scratch.
To take part in the clinic, please bring a mobile phone or tablet with the Facebook and Instagram apps already installed.

During the clinic we will help you:
• Set up a social media page for your Lodge or Chapter
• Add the essential information and branding
• Create and publish your first social media post

By the end of the session, many attendees will have their Lodge or Chapter social media page live and ready to use.

The workshop will last approximately 90 minuets and a further 1 hour for those wanting to stay and attend the practical clinic.

The workshop will take place at the Provincial Office, Whitstable.
