Entering its third year, Sheerness Golf club was the venue to host the David Graeme trophy which pits the golfing prowess of the East Kent Light Blues versus those provincial officers of East Kent.

Occupying its traditional spot of the season Finale of the Masonic Golf season, 19 players took to the tee’s for the bragging rights for this contest.

Heading up the teams were this year’s EKMGA captain Daren Horne led the Dark Blue team.   He took to the tee first with Leon Zacharow & Paul Routley who jointly captained the Light Blues.

The competition would be settled by average Stableford score for each team, and they were evenly matched with 10 V 9 Players.

The results were very tight with our own APGM and East Kent Light Blue ambassador Mark Costelloe coming home with the best individual score.  (39 points).  Brian Ball in the light blue team came in a close second place with 38 points.

The results were very tight with the Light Blues gaining 321 points from their 10 Players.   (32.1 points average).  The Dark blue team scored a total of 282 points from 9 players.  (Average of 31.3 points)

The afternoon was completed by a light lunch and prize giving with Paul Routley accepting the prize on behalf of the light blues.

The captain collected light hearted fines in the “fine bucket” and collected £137.00 from the generosity of the Brethren & Guests.

Daren also thanked everyone as by the generosity of the year, we have collectively raised £1017 over the season which will be donated to Dandelion time which is a nature-based charity dedicated to giving early support to children who have suffered from trauma such as domestic abuse or neglect.
