East Kent Combined Services Lodge – Pre‑Christmas Meeting

On Saturday 13th December, the East Kent Combined Services Lodge No. 10038 held its final meeting before Christmas.

The evening began with members who had missed the earlier Installation ceremony being formally invested into their offices, followed by an address to the Wardens and brethren.

A highlight of the meeting was the advancement of Brother Trevor Waters, who successfully passed to the Second Degree – a significant milestone in his Masonic journey. Congratulations, Trevor, on taking this important next step!

During the meeting, the Lodge welcomed WBro Russ Spendley from the Provincial Mentor Team. With the Worshipful Master’s permission, Russ presented three Solomon Diplomas to members of the Lodge.

Russ spoke warmly about the work of the Mentoring Team, explaining the roles of its members and the support they offer. He encouraged brethren to make use of the many resources available, including:

  • Your Province 2 platform
  • The Museum & Library, which he suggested visiting with family and friends
  • A wide range of lecturers and talks

He also announced the upcoming Cornwallis Lecture in Canterbury on 16th January 2026, inviting members to attend.

Russ then explained the Solomon learning programme, highlighting its wealth of knowledge and encouraging everyone to sign up and consider completing the diploma.

The evening concluded with the presentation of Solomon Diplomas to:

  • WBro Mike Salter (Worshipful Master)
  • WBro Dale Abercrombie (Chaplain)
  • WBro James Milward (Treasurer)

Russ thanked them for their dedication and urged all members to return to their lodges and inspire others to take advantage of Solomon’s resources.
