On Wednesday 11th September, members of The East Kent Light Blues Brothers attended the United Grand Lodge Of England Quarterly Communications (QC) meeting at Freemasons’ Hall in London. This gathering offered Master Masons and above from across the country the chance to witness the grandeur of the historic building and the ceremony inside.

The journey to London was filled with energy and laughter, as attendees eagerly anticipated the event. Some enjoyed a coffee or something a  little stronger at the local ‘watering holes’ before heading to Greet Queen Street.

The meeting was a visual spectacle, particularly for new members, with engaging insights from the Pro Grand Master and guest speaker, the Provincial Grand Master of Durham. Attendees were even given an unexpected tour of rarely seen parts of Grand Lodge due to a pre-planned fire drill that required the building to be evacuated!

After the meeting, many participants gathered for a private dinner at the White Swan Pub. The ‘Festive Board’ offered a relaxed setting where members could socialise and reflect on the day’s events over a two-course meal. Sharing a private function room with members of the Provincial Executive, including the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, provided junior brethren with an excellent opportunity to interact with the leadership and discuss a range of topics.

Overall, the day was a resounding success, with attendees enjoying both the Grand Lodge experience and the camaraderie during the post-event dinner. The event gave Masons of all levels of experience a valuable chance to connect, celebrate, and appreciate the splendour of Freemasons’ Hall.
