The Provinces First Whisky Appreciation, Dining and Wine Chapter

Our September meeting is not too far away and we are celebrating with an exaltation and two exceptional Whiskey’s to try.

A favourite from the The English Distillery is their small Batch Virgin Oak, so far the English Distillery has come up trumps against all the competition, but how will it compete against the ‘Power’ of Powers Three Swallow, Single Pot distilled Irish Whiskey?

The best way to find out is to join us at our meeting on Thursday 12th September at the Masonic Centre in Margate.

Our Festive Board is nothing short of superb, for September our menu is:

To Start
Garlic Prawns in a Vol au Vent
Main
Lamb Shank, fondant potatoes, Petit Pois and Mint Pea Foam, accompanied by a glass of superb Pillastro Primitivo Puglia 2022 (Voted best Italian Wine of the year 5 times).
For Dessert
Fresh Fruit Eaton Mess
Followed by
A handsome Selection of Cheeses with a Glass of Port
To Finish
Tea / Coffee & Mints

Cost is £30.00 payable in Cash on the night.

Places for dining are limited to 50 Companions

Whisky tasting takes place before the festive board, each dram on this occasion costs £3.00 (cash only), if you are driving we can give you a dram of each to take and try in the comfort of your own home.

Any profit goes to the 2025 Festival and or Cornwallis Charity.

Buckingham Palace has released the following statement:

“It is with deep sorrow that Buckingham Palace announces the death of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent.

Her Royal Highness passed away peacefully last night at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family.

The King and Queen and all Members of The Royal Family join The Duke of Kent, his children and grandchildren in mourning their loss and remembering fondly The Duchess’s life-long devotion to all the organisations with which she was associated, her passion for music and her empathy for young people.”

We are sure that Brethren and Companions of East Kent, will wish to extend their heartfelt condolences to the Grand Master, His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent, during this difficult time.
