Working Together, bringing Joy, Happiness, Friendship and a little bit of Christmas

Working together, the five Almoners from Deal and Walmer lodges, put on a festive spread for the Widows of thieir respective lodges.

It has been two years since the last Deal Widows Christmas Lunch, and it was so good to be back.

This time of year can be hard for everyone, so it is welcoming and lovely to see so many smiling faces as they entered the Masonic Hall in Deal to sit down and enjoy a fab Christmas Lunch.

Under the watchful eye of Malcolm Gibbons, the widows were treated to a sherry reception, followed by a three course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Christmas Crackers, Table Decorations by Mrs Gibbons and the inevitable Masonic Raffle, what more could one want? OH Yes, Christmas Carols by the infamous Dee Lindas, accompanied by French Horn player Paul Gear on the Keyboard!

As £160 was raised on the raflle, the Ladies joined Dee in singing well known carols followed by the tranditional 12 Days of Christmas, a joy to be hold, with a guest appearance by the Provincial Grand Almoner Nigel Fitz and his wife Maria. It was lovely to see Nigel and Maria.

With the singin over, and everyone full of Christmas cheer, it only left a final few words from Malcolm and Nigel, God Save the King was sung and we all departed, thankfull for the hard work of the the Masons present, Malcolm Gibbons, David Hawkes, Dee Lindas, Rod Maytum, et al.
