William Blay Trophy – Faversham Golf Club

The EKMGA took to the fairways in July to contest the William Blay Trophy which is the oldest sporting competition within the province of East Kent.
The competition is open to teams of four who are representing their own lodge and was first contested in 1949. The it was won by the Walsingham lodge (no 2148) and has been contested pretty much every year since. In 2021 it was won by Maedis Stana Lodge (No 7868)

 

Six teams from across the province gathered at Faversham Golf club to contest the competition which was the best total scores of all four players. The results were:

1st Place: Maeides Stana Lodge (7868) 127 Points
2nd Place: Alfred Wootton Chapter (127) 124 Points.
3rd Place: Douglas Lodge (1725) 123 Points
4th Place: Weald of Kent Lodge (1854) 119 Points
5th Place: Malling Centenery Lodge (8068) 113 Points
6th Place: Spirit of Rugby Lodge (9922) 109 Points

Individual Winner:

As the current rules of the William Blay require at each team to have at least three members who play golf, we also run an individual competition for the best overall score. The results were:
Winner: Gerry Miller: (Malling Centenary lodge 8068) 45 points
Runner Up: Paul Ames – (Erasmus Wilson Lodge 1464) 38 points
Third Place: Peter Rodd. (Royal Navy lodge -429) 37 Points
