Some of you may remember just over a year ago, East and West Kent Freemasons donated money towards a very exciting expedition, a voyage to Antarctica, marking 100 years of the famous voyage taken by Ernest Shackleton on his ship Quest.
The Shackleton-Rowett Expedition of 1921-1922 included two Scouts: James Marr and Norman Mooney. On 30th December 2021 the team of ten scouts and their leaders followed in Marr and Mooney’s footsteps and departed from South America for Antarctica.
Alan Noake, one of the Kent Scout leaders, attended the Provincial Officers Mess and gave a talk about the trip and thanked everyone in East Kent for their support.
The ReQuest website has so much more information about the expedition, so take a few mins to have a read, so much to learn and find out. https://www.request2021.org.uk
