The Great Work Continues

For many, the onset of this awful pandemic at the start of the year meant we had to slow down or even stop our usual activities.

For many many Freemasons across the country, this meant our regular meetings had to be put on hold. So other ways had to be found in order to keep in touch with the members of the lodge and to keep supporting those charities we hold so dear to our hearts.

So how did St Marys’ Gillingham Green Lodge get on?

We’ve Raised over £3800

 So Far!

The lodge has been making the use of video technology like Zoom and Google Meet.

They arrange a meeting with the lodge members in which they catch up on how everyone is keeping, make sure that the members of safe and well and not in need of anything.

At 9 O’clock pm they raise a glass and toast “Absent Brethren”, a tradition that takes place in all lodges across the globe, remembering those “Brethren” (members) who have sadly passed away and joined the Grand Lodge above.

During the get-together, a raffle is held, each member donates £10, 2 bottles of wine are then raffled and the proceedings are then donated to charity.

Here is a list of the Charities that have benefitted from the fantastic work carried out by the members of the lodge.
