2025 Great East Kent Boat Race

In aid of the 2025 Festival

At 5 pm on Sunday, the 5th of May nearly 200 miniature sailing boats were launched by East Kent Freemasons at Sheerness, Herne Bay, Margate, St Margarets Bay and Hythe in aid of the Provincial 2025 Festival.

The boat that travelled the greatest distance would win its Captain the princely sum of £100. But of course, the point of the race was to get out of the house, have some fun and indeed raise money for the 2025 Festival.

Many passers-by enquired as to what the event was about and many were very impressed. We even got a healthy mention on the Kent On-Line website. So overall, no one got that sinking feeling and everyone appeared very buoyed up with the event.
