Saturday 23rd April 2022 saw the first event following lockdown hosted by the 2025 Festival Committee, and what a night it was. Murder, Mystery, Money and a Giant Teddy Bear! What more could one ask for?

The Ashford International Hotel hosted the 2022 Murder Mystery in aid of the 2025 Festival which supports the Masonic Charitable Foundation, members of the Province of East Kent, along with guests gathered for an uncertain evening as to what was going to happen next, and they weren’t disappointed.

Pre drinks in the bars and we were introduced to some of the characters we were to meet later at Lovelace manor. We had been invited by Lord and Lady Lovelace to a charity ball in aid of a worthy charity, presided over by Lord Lovelace.

The guests were asked to stand for grace, and the evening took off, Lord and Lady lovelace had an argument in front of all the gusts, a shot rang out, a scream and lady Lovelace fell to the ground. But who shot lady Lovelace?Lady Lovelace addressing the guests

That was our task for the evening. As the excellent meal was being served, members of the Lovelace household came to each table, The Chef approaches the tablewe then asked questions and armed with a resume of each character, we set about guessing who done it?

So who done it? That’s a secret!!

But here is the team who won.

team winners of the murder mystery

A BIG Thankyou to Chris and his team for organising a memorable evening, we had a fantastic time, the Actors were brilliant and the food was good and served fast! The winning team who identified the murderer and motive (Unfortunately table 14 guessed right, but for the wrong reason), received a magnum of bubbly.
No event is complete without a raffle and heads & tails with the winner receiving a huge Teddy Bear, she was very pleased. The event was concluded with a couple of hours at the Casino trying to break the bank with the lucky winner receiving a hotel stay having finished at the stroke of midnight with a whopping £6000 having started at the wheel with £100.
A Great evening very well organised and if this is a taster of what’s to come from the remainder of our 2025 festival, then I cannot wait for the rest of the programme to be unveiled.
