Smiles brought back to a waitress who had her motorcycle stolen.
Before the suspension of Freemasonry by the Duke of Kent, Fran Reed had her motorcycle stolen, her insurance was not enough to cover the cost of a replacement.
Fran who has been waitress at Dover Masonic hall for a number of years was heartbroken.
So, a couple of members made a request on March 10 for Dover Freemasons to help, by the 12th, £2,200 had been raised, a discount offered by the motorcycle shop owner and money from the insurance made it possible to buy a new Motorcycle.
Fran said “ I was so upset when my motorcycle was stolen, but imagine my surprise when I was told the members of Dover lodges had clubbed to gather to buy a replacement, Freemasons are truly wonderful in helping someone in need, thank you all so much”.
Working together is a powerful tool, especially during the present pandemic.
