Queenborough Lodge 3893

From little acorns big “Oak Trees Grow”, as they say.

So when Steve Dawson set up a WhatsApp Group for his Lodge, Queenborough, it soon grew into an online Zoom meeting with a Raffle.

With the raffle being drawn live, and each member pledging £10, it was agreed that the winner would choose the next Charity to benefit.

The first draw proceeds went to Age UK.

Matt Rochester won that raffle and his suggested the next Charity to benefit would be Curlys Legacy.

The “Pot” starts to Grow.

So with the next Charity decided on, Fraser Gregory suggested that the lodge look into “match Funding” from the Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons Charity.

Ian Addis the Charity Steward of the Lodge, applied for donations to be matched for the RNLI and Curlys Legacy. Both succeeded, with the RNLI being awarded £340 and Curlys Legacy a fantastic £2,000.

To date The Queenborough lodge has raised £2,370.00 for local charities through the raffle since lockdown;

  •  AGE UK
  • Queenborough food bank
  • Sheerness RNLI
  • Curlys Legacy
  • Sheppey RFC
  • The Oliver Fisher Trust
  • The Freedom Centre ( Twice )
  • Castle Connections
  • Isle of Sheppey St John Ambulance
  • Swampys Wildlife Rescue
