Monckton Chapter: A small Chapter with a huge heart.
On the 4th March, Monckton Chapter that meets at the Maidstone Masonic Temple in Tovil, was honoured to receive the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E Comp John Kennett Baker at their Installation Meeting. The Deputy Grand Superintendent presented the Chapter with a Platinum Award Certificate for their fantastic contribution to the 2025 Festival.
Punching above it’s weight
The Deputy Grand Superintendent congratulated the Chapter for their contribution to The Festival commenting the the Chapter had, “punched above its weight”.
The Certificate was received on behalf of the Companions by the First Principal. On their behalf he then presented to the Deputy Grand Superintendent a further £500 towards the Festival.
At the same meeting £500 was donated to the Mariners of Bewl an inclusive sailing club where members with physical impairments and non disabled sail together on an equal basis in an adaptive fleet of dinghies. The Chapter passed propositions to donate £100 to the Air Ambulance and £500 to Smile Train, a global charity that provides repairing surgery for clefts.
New members most welcome to the only morning Chapter in the Province of East Kent
Monckton Chapter provides the only morning Chapter in the Province. At this meeting they had the pleasure of balloting and receiving two joining members. Monckton is a vibrant and active Chapter evidenced by its charitable endeavour and continues to receive new members for exaltation. It also provides an opportunity for Companions who would like to continue their Royal Arch Masonry but would prefer a morning meeting. A mix of experienced and new Companions adds to the enjoyment and Masonic experience in the Chapter regardless of their usual workings!
