Our Local Group
“As for the group? In 2012, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It was during this time, whilst going through my treatment, that the nurses at the hospital would tell me that other women are asking for my help and support, and could they give them my phone number?
The number of women in our support group grew, today from just a few of us; there are at least 25 women in our local group.
Our aim is to meet once a month at the Betteshanger Rugby Club, Canada Road, Deal. We have a good old chat and a laugh, and support each other when needed”.
“My main fundraising event this year is the clifftop challenge but a lot of the ladies do their own things.
As a group, we are also involved with the charity and are always doing something for them from campaigns to awareness…”
The Members of the Lord Warden Lodge were more than happy to help support the charity by donating £250.
The cheque for £250 was presented on Wednesday the 13th February 2019 at Bettshanger Rugby Club. Members of the Lord Warden Lodge joined the Breast Cancer Now Group.
