Local Foodbank continues its Great Work.

With a little help from our Friends!

It was back in April that we brought you the fantastic story of five Deal Lodges coming together to help support a local Foodbank.

The initiative has gone from strength to strength, in part because of one person, Colin Tonks of Wellington Lodge No 784. But the story continues and the initiative continues to grow and deliver much-needed meals.

Colin continues the update….

(The original story can be found here by clicking this link. )

Colin is pictured in the photo below.

Two deliveries per week consisting of Cottage Pie and Bangers and Mash commenced on 22nd April, until funding ran out on 10th August. We delivered some 640 individual meals over that period.

A further meeting with Deal Foodbank confirms that demand continues to rise.

Again the Freemasons of Deal on approach, have rallied to the call with further donations. I have the privilege to inform and confirm to our local foodbank that supply will continue until Christmas and beyond.

To date, local Lodge donations have exceeded £2400 and with our relaunch currently underway and on behalf of the Freemasons of Deal. I expect to donate and deliver in excess of 1500 meals by December 2020.
