Geoffrey Gordon Dearing Bowl
Sene Valley Golf Club 19th August 2021
49 Members of East Kent and their guests assembled for the Major individual competition of the Masonic Golfing Year at Sene Valley Golf Club in Folkestone.
We were honoured to have the past PGM of the province of East Kent, the VWBro Geoffrey Gordon Dearing to launch the event. Arriving with his own driver and “an old top-flight ball”, he took to the first tee in front of the waiting crowd and sent the ball straight down the first fairway.
Sene Valley Golf course dates to 1894 and was founded by Sir Henry Cotton who won the British Open three times. (1934, 1937 & 1948) Enjoying Magnificent views over the English Channel, North Downs, and Romney Marsh, certainly provided a tough test of golf.
The day was sponsored by the TLC Appeal and the secretary WBro Paul Routley gave a presentation of the appeal. The proceeds of this month fine bucket was in aid of the TLC and raised £ £217.46
