Reculvers Chapter 4123 Double Exaltation and Double Whiskey!
Companions our next meeting is really something very special.
The Business
Thursday 3rd April at the Masonic Centre, New Cross Street Margate, starting at 6pm. The meeting is a Double Exaltation.
To unwind
We will then retire to the bar, and Companions, this meeting English Oloroso Cask meets the ‘English Smokey’. As yet we have not tried a peated or smoked and its about time we did.
The Oloroso Cask, again is a limited distillation with only 1,236 bottles Worldwide and is a result of marrying three sister casks together . This unpeated single cask has been matured in the finest quality Oloroso Casks, which have given wonderful aromas of toffee, apples and chololate.
The Smokey is a superb peated single malt with layers of savoury smoke, balanced with just the right amount of peppery heat and sweetness. If you like an Islay you will love this.
Tots are £3.00 each, but if you wish to try both £5.00 (cash on the night).
Dining
Should you wish to dine with us then we have a sumptuous menu for the evening. The meal will be accompanied with a lovely Californian Pinot Noir – Purple Owl, specially selected by Laithwaits Wine to accompany this meal.

Three Cheese Stuffed Portobello Mushroom with Roasted vine tomatoes
Main
Crispy Belly Pork, Dauphinoise Potatoes, Creamed leeks & glazed carrots
Dessert
Caramelised Pear with Clotted Cream Ice Cream & Toffee Tuille
Rounded off with Selection of Cheeses and Biscuits & Port, followed by
Tea / Coffee – Mints
The meal is £30.00 per person, payable on the night (cash preferred)
Further bottles of Purple Owl can be purchased at the remarkable price of £12.00, but there are limited bottles available and any profit goes to the 2025 Festival.
Purple Owl is a medium red wine with the aroma of black cherry and raspberry with a subtle note of oaky spice. 14% ABV
