The Venue
The George Vaults, 35 High Street, Rochester, ME1 1LN.
The Crypt owes its origin to a chamberlain of the priory during the time of Bishop Gundulph. Originally known as Saint George & Dragon, the building burned down in 1768 & the present structure was created over the vault. The Vault was rediscovered only in 2002.
The chamber is 54ft long, 16ft wide & 11ft high with 4 quadripartite vaults, the shell of the vault being made up of chalk ashlars. There are ribs on the groins with 9 carved ornamental bosses at the intersections.
The Crypt is also said to mark the site of the Church of St Mary, within The Walled City of Rochester, but has never been found.
Breakfast Options
Breakfast Option One: 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, 2 hash browns, beans, mushrooms & toast.
Breakfast Option Two: 2 vegan sausages, avocado, 2 hash brown, mushroom, toast & spinach.
Event Fee
This is a Mason only event. The fee to attend is £10 for EKLBB Club Members & £15 for their guests. Guests are considered to be those who are Masons but do not have EKLBB membership. The fee includes your breakfast choice as well as unlimited tea & coffee.
Dress Code
The dress code for this event is smart casual.
Voting
Only those who’re members of the EKLBB Club & have not at the time of this event received Provincial Honours are eligible to vote.
Afterwards
If any of the gentlemen would enjoy a drink afterwards, the venue will happily accommodate this & will serve us upstairs with the general public. Alternatively, we can move on to another establishment.
