Buckingham Charity Shoot
Saturday 15th. May saw six members of the Provincial Clay Shooting Team make the 100 mile journey to Common Leys Shooting Ground in Buck’s to take part in the first Inter-Provincial charity shoot since the lifting of restrictions due to the pandemic. The members were Bernie Connolly, Roger Wilkes, Nick Jenkins, Rob Styles, Mick Daly and Steve Ball, they joined 64 other brave souls in a day that could have been kinder weather wise but as they say “the show must go on”.

Buckingham Charity Shoot cont….
In mostly dry but overcast conditions the intrepid shooters enjoyed the customary breakfast roll along with tea/coffee before making their way onto the stands where trying, but breakable targets, were dispatched in a variety of simulated pattens, some broken and some missed. All to soon it was over and everyone made their way to the marquee for a well-deserved luncheon after which the prize presentation was made, Metropolitan Grand Lodge of London won the event with East Kent closing in on them 15 clays behind. However, our Chairman, Bernie Connolly did win the “Pool Shoot” with a 100% score, this is a very fast ten clay stand to test all competitors and to score 10/10 is exceptional. All to soon it was time to say cheerio to our masonic clay shooting brethren and make our way back to Kent, it was great to meet our colleagues once again after the enforced break and as long as the opening of facilities continue, we will soon see them all again.
