July’s fixture saw the EKMGA visit the Weald of Kent Golf Club to contest the Geoffrey Gordon Dearing Bowl.
Overall, 34 Masons from across East Kent took part in this year’s event. We were also delighted to be joined by several guests and prospective members. This is an annual competition, and the prize is a magnificent trophy sponsored by our former Provincial Grand Master.
Moving to the main competition, it was won by Keith Miller of Malling Centenary lodge (8068) scoring 39 points. Closely behind was the runner up, Paul Ames from Erasmus Wilson Lodge (1464)
- Paul McGuirk
One of the highlights of the day was for Phillip Playle from United Service lodge who scored a Hole in one on the tough par 3, 6th Hole. Honouring the tradition of buying everyone a drink, this turned out to be an expensive day for Phil!
The best guest for the day was Paul Knight who was a guest of members of Douglas Lodge (1725)
The charity collection raised £198.50 for Dandelion time which is our captains chosen charity of the year. Their work is designed around restoring hope to Children’s lives after trauma and abuse.
