“A Golden Legacy”

Presentation of a 50-year certificate

On the 25th January 2023, the Saint Lawrence Lodge No 3350, had the pleasure of receiving the Very Worshipful Deputy Grand Master, WBro Phillip N South accompanied by WBro Graham Cuthbert, ProvDepGDC and six escorting officers, for the presentation of a Fifty-Year Service Certificate. This milestone in anyones life  is a remarkable achievement, and one that deserves a bit of pomp and circumstance.

So who received the certificate?

That would be Brother Martyn Rowlands a member of Saint Lawrence lodge since the 25th January 1973, Past member of Wellington Chapter No 784 Sandwich and a founder of The Rectitude and Harmony Lodge No 9093 in Birchington.

The Very Worshipful Brother Philip South gave a detailed account of Martyn’s life and connections to masonry. The certificate was presented during the Lodge meeting as is usual, which was presided over by WBro Ian Ireland.

After the ceremony was completed, everyone re grouped at the Festive Board, where further celebrations were held, and other remarkable Mason was honoured, Worshipful Brother Ron Dean turning the young age of 90!

Everyone wished Ron a very Happy Birthday, and many more to come.

By John Kirtley.

On behalf of our Province and its members, congratulations to Brother’s Martyn and Ron on their amazing achievements.
