Mardi Gras 2019

hosted by  The Board of Provincial Stewards.

A hot summer night greeted the guests to the Ashford International Hotel for the Mardi Gras Ball, hosted by, no other than, Worshipful Brother Chris Watson!

With a Red Carpet welcome and an honour Guard of strapping Provincial Grand Stewards, who could not be impressed.
Decked in their Stewards Bow Ties, Provincial Collars and a Red Rose, guests were directed into the foyet for a pre drink of Prosecco.

Reception Drinks were accompanied with the live music of Philip Smith on Saxaphone, and our own Mike West on Trumpet.

The Master of Disaster, sorry, Ceremonies; WBro Chris Watson, then invited guests into the main dining suite.

Tables decorated with Flowers, Mardi Gras masks, booklets and red scatter gems looked fantastic, black backed chairs with red bows finished the Mardi Gras look.

WBro Stan Chapman, Vice Chairman gave the opening Grace, and everyone enjoyed the fabulous food and company.

The formal part of the Ball continued with the Toasts, given by the Provincial Grand Master. Neil Hamilton Johnstone.

The Provincial Grand Master then gave a short welcome and spoke about the 2025 Festival, its target and hopes. He also sported the new 2025 Festival Jewel.

Music at this point was provided by the Native Oyster Band.
