On the 29th May 2019, Peter Rhodes the Provincial Charity Steward for East Kent, accompanied by Nick Bushell, visited The Charity, Caring All Together on Romney March (CARM) . A local Charity in Romney Marsh.
The Charity works across Romney Marsh, Tenterden and parts of rural Ashford.
CARM’s mission is to support older people living on Romney Marsh and its surrounding rural areas who are socially isolated. The charity aims to improve people’s well-being, help people remain independent for longer and enhance their quality of life, by promoting social interaction, helping people to form friendships and connect with their community. They also help beneficiaries in isolated villages who would otherwise meet very few people. The Charity was founded in 1987; and came about for a desire of local Christian Churches to show love and compassion to those in need. CARM has evolved over the years, but is committed to its founding principles.
The picture below shows the cheque being presented to The Rev Shuna Body and Sharon Harrison, by Peter Rhodes accompanied by Nick Bushell.
The total amount £13,500 will be spread over three years.
The Charity is always looking for volunteers to assist with befriending, perhaps some of you would be willing to help?
