PORTA MARIS LODGE 4287 & CEKFCCHEQUE PRESENTATION TO LOUIE'S HELPING HANDS
The Llewellyn School-Big Build
WHO ARE LOUIE’S HELING HANDS?
December 2015 saw the unexpected closure of The Royal School for the Deaf in Margate, leaving many children with complex needs without a suitable school placement.
Sara Llewellyn (Louie’s mum) opened her home up to reach out to these children, and in May 2016 they received their Charitable Status.
Anthony Curwen Managing Director of Quex Park Estates generously offered a plot of land at Quex Park to build a single-story timber framed school. In February 2018 planning permission was granted and The Big Build began, the school will be called The Llewellyn School and Nursery.

PORTA MARIS LODGE No 4287 & The CEKFC
Last November Porta Maris Lodge held its annual Ladies Night at the Pegwell Bay Hotel.
Money raised during the evening from Raffles to donations totalled a fantastic £1050. It was decided that Paul Chute (our Charity Steward) would apply to the Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons Charity (CEKFC) for Grant Funding.
This was granted and £250 was added to our total.
But it didn’t stop there. The Charity added a further £1700 bringing the total to an unbelievable £3000
