Young Jacob Marley from Deal has cerebral palsy, he is wheelchair bound, must be feed through a feeding tube to his stomach, he has very limited communications, smiles when he is happy and can make a few basic sounds, but he cannot  talk.

The child’s plight caught the attention of Martin Jones the head of Military Jubilee Lodge in Dover, he and his wife Carol, earlier in the year decided to hold a High Tea and a Barbecue to raised money for Jacob, after support from lodge members, family and friends they raised £1100 to pay for Jacob and his family to spend a weekend at Legoland.

Jacob’s mum said, “thanks to the kindness of East Kent Freemasons, not only did they give us a wonderful weekend at Legoland which has fantastic facilities for disabled children, where Jacob was able to board boats and join in lots of activities with other children, it also brought a grateful smile to his face and we were able to have some respite from the day to day routine”.
