Another successful Winter Warmer dinner dance and cabaret night was held at the Mercure Hotel Hollingbourne on 12th February.

The evening began with everyone standing in silent tribute to the late Mac Cheeseman, one of the event organisers, who sadly passed away a week earlier. He was a much loved and hard-working East Kent Freemason, sadly missed by all those that knew him, but the evening was treated as a celebration of his life.

After a fine meal, interspersed with some humour from the evening’s host, Miki Travis, the guests were entertained with some lovely singing from Sammy Lou.

Miki Travis then returned to the stage and had everyone splitting their sides with laughter as he worked through his comedy routine.

To round off the evening the Cymbolick Penalties started their set with an amusing rendition of “Parklife” and, with Sammy guesting on some of the vocals, they filled the dance floor until the clock struck twelve.

It was indeed an evening to celebrate Mac’s life and it was enjoyed by everyone present.

After the last dance Jake Jackson from the Cymbolicks closed the evening with the words: “Same time next year”.

Tom Sutton, one of the organisers from the Provincial Charity Committee has announced that: “On completing the account for Winter Warmer VI, a cheque for £1,906.09 has been sent to the Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons’ Charity”.
