Buckmore Park Scout Campsite

Here is the perfect opportunity for anyone with a business background to assist in the management of Buckmore Park Scout Campsite in a voluntary capacity.

John Holder, a Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master in the adjoining Province of West Kent, has been heavily involved in the rescue of Buckmore Park, and to move it forward.

Buckmore Park Scout Campsite (BPSC) is owned by the members of Medway Towns Scout District. Its Executive Committee and local trustees (who hold the freehold of the campsite for the benefit of the District) have agreed to incorporate a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) to manage, develop and operate BPSC.

A CIO is equivalent to a company limited by guarantee that is registered as a charity – the difference is that it only has one regulator (the Charity Commission) instead of also being regulated by the Registrar of Companies.

Click here for more information about CIOs.

Trustees are now being recruited for the new CIO, equivalent to Directors of a limited company, and there is a wish to cast the net as wide as possible, not just to Scouters alone. There is absolutely no need for you to have any association with scouting, just a simple desire to build a better association between our Fraternity and Scouting.

Some of these young people could very well be our future members!

More information about the campsite can be found at
