Board of Stewards Report

Firstly may I once again thank the Board of Stewards for their support, encouragement and humour over the past few months leading up to the Summer Sizzler. Through everybody’s hard work even against some walls that were laid before us we achieved in my opinion a very successful evening one that was enjoyed by all it seems. The correspondence that I have received either via facebook, emails, texts & letters has been very humbling and I have received them with such joy and pride on behalf of a board of superb individuals, they have all made finishing of my two years as a Provincial Steward the most memorial experience throughout my Masonic career.

The evening started off well and continued its relaxed Caribbean theme aided by ‘Pantasy’ Steel band, the Board of Provincial Stewards all worked well and carried out their individual duties with gusto as planned. Our whole aim was to make it fun and put something back into the Province after celebrating 300 years of masonry the year before. The consensus is that our family and guests enjoyed it from the moment they arrived until the very end. The total number in attendance was 162, with a fantastic £1255.00 raised by the raffle.

The evenings guest of honour was David Alexander accompanied by his wife Joan. David wrote a wonderful letter to the board thanking them for their efforts in producing a “splendid evening”. David went on to say that, “It was clear from the outset that everyone was having a great time, and let’s face it, it would be impossible to do anything else, given the planning, effort and delivery of such a dedicated Board of Stewards.” He continued, “As a swansong, the Board must have all been delighted with the outcome- a venue appropriately filled and wonderfully decorated, a most pleasant meal, superb entertainment, 160 very happy supporters and a generous outcome for the Cornwallis East Kent Charity. Win Win on all counts!”
Davids wife Joan also thanked the Board for the lovely bouquet of flowers.

The Board would like to extend their thanks to Mr Gareth Head the Regional Sales Director at Heineken for the 3x raffle prizes and the free welcome drinks that Heineken provided for the event, Mr David King who very generously covered our main band for the evening ‘Empire Soul’ at no expenses to us & Mr Dave Fowler our table magician.
Also, the Winter Gardens, especially Max and Sam who managed the event on the night.
