East Kent Freemasons, their families and friends brought their gazebos, picnic tables and camp chairs to a thoroughly enjoyable concert in the grounds of Godmersham House near Canterbury on 23rd July 2016.
The concert, which was organised by John Jones on behalf of the Provincial Charity Committee, featured Folkestone Symphony, a sixty piece orchestra led by Floriane Peycelon and conducted by Rupert Bond. There was also a special guest appearance by Mezzo Soprano Sabrina Curwen.
The concert was opened with the March of the Gladiators and included a varied programme of music with a “Proms” theme, ending with hearty singing of Rule Brittania and a rousing Pomp and Circumstance March No 1.
The combination of fine weather, excellent music and the wonderful backdrop of Godmersham House and its grounds led to a memorable evening which was enjoyed by all.
