The Freemasons of Bradley Lodge No 7929 in Paddock Wood had much to celebrate on 19th November when their senior Past Master, Roly Baker, was presented with a 50-year certificate by Assistant Provincial Grand Master David Graeme.

Roly was Initiated into Bradley Lodge on 18th November 1965 during the second year of the Lodge’s existence.   He passed through each of the Offices, attaining the Chair in September 1974. He became Director of Ceremonies in 1981 having served as Assistant Director of Ceremonies for a number of years before. He was appointed Past Provincial Deputy Grand Registrar in May 1983 and promoted to Past Provincial Grand Registrar in 1990.

On 18th February 1993 Roly had the great delight of Initiating his son Glen into Bradley Lodge and later raised him to the 3rd Degree on 20th January 1994. Glen became Master of the Lodge in 2002.

In the Holy Royal Arch, Roly was a member of St. Peter’s Chapter No 4193 in Rochester. He was promoted to Past Provincial Deputy Grand Registrar in 2000.
