Member of the Provincial Charity Committee 2002 to 2011 as an Area Chairman looking after three centres in the Medway towns. Secretary 2009 to 2011, with responsibility for the honorific award scheme for the 2014 Festival.
After a short spell training to be an Actuary joined the Police Service in 1979. Seconded to Interpol and National Criminal Intelligence Service where the work mostly involved travelling to exotic locations (and Peckham).
Member of the team that designed the Euro notes.
Retired in 2006 and started a small management consultancy specialising in Management Information application.
Married to Jan, a Child and Adolescent Psychologist.
Other interests include gardening (has two allotments) and collecting antique silverware.
