Prostate Cancer Support Association (Kent), has intrinsic links with Freemasonry, with founding members of the association coming from Deal Lodges since its inception 11 years ago. This worthy charity had small beginnings, first meeting in Canterbury Hospital, with help from MacMillan Nurses and Consultants it rapidly expanded and branches in Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and Orpington were formed.
The links with Freemasonry strengthen year on year with regular visits to Masonic Lodges throughout Kent advising members of the risks, treatment and early diagnosis of Prostate Cancer. Fundraising and donations help to raise awareness and provide much needed equipment to local Hospitals. Over the past 12 months, Deal Masonic lodges have raised and donated £10,000, helping to make PCSA (Kent) the Kent Messenger Charity of the year 2015 for Deal and Dover.
In this latest donation, the Master of the Lord Warden Lodge No 1096, Paul Gear, along with two of his members: Tim Bowles (left) and Ray Horton (far right), presents a cheque for £700 raised by members of the lodge, to Mr Graham Edwards of the Prostate Cancer Support Association Kent.
