In an effort to attract undergraduates into Freemasonry, two members of Pentangle Lodge No 1174 visited the Medway Universities campus on Wednesday 21st September.
Two of Pentangle Lodge’s Past Masters, Roy Salvidge and Chris Sanford, manned a stand at the Fresher’s Fair held in the Pilkington Building as part of the lodge’s renewed efforts to promote the Universities Scheme and attract some more members.
They spent the day chatting informally to as many people as possible, distributing literature and debunking the popular myths.
Roy and Chris were rewarded with some thirty students that expressed an interest in the Craft. The lodge will be holding an Open Day at the Masonic Centre in Gundulph Square, Rochester on Saturday 12th November, to which each of those showing an interest will be invited.
Pentangle Lodge No 1174 is based in Rochester and is one of two Universities Scheme lodges in the Masonic Province of East Kent, the other being St Augustine Lodge No 972 in Canterbury.
