The recently published “Future of Freemasonry 2015-1020” stresses, among other things, the importance of attracting new members to our fraternity.
One important way of raising interest is to hold an open day at your Masonic Centre. Previous Open Days have proved quite fruitful in attracting new members.
The Provincial Events Team has considerable experience of Centre Open Days and will help you organise it. The team has a range of display materials that can be used on the day and they can help promote the event in the local media. Subject to the local authority, it may also be possible to use the Mobile Display Unit in the town to help direct attention to your Open Day.
The event will require the support of the local Freemasons based at your Centre and volunteers from them will be needed on the day to speak to members of the public and show them round your building.
Open Days are usually held in the Summer months to fit in with the recess in the Masonic calendar.
