Mentoring in Canterbury

The Mentor's Tale

If Geoffrey Chaucer was re-writing the Canterbury Tales in 2009, he would have to include "The Mentor's Tale" as Canterbury now has a highly organized and energetic Mentoring team in place.

The group, which meets three times a year, includes representatives from every Lodge in the cluster, including even the newly established Sir Edward Elgar Lodge. Team members have been busy recruiting Personal Mentors for the newer members of their Lodges, and working with their respective Lodges of Instruction to provide the best possible environment for newer members to progress.

Under the Leadership of Cluster Co-ordinator W. Bro. Gary Bodle; the team includes W. Bro's Tony Eldridge (United Industrious Lodge No. 31), Robin Masters (St Augustine Lodge No. 972), Rodney Marsh(Royal Military Lodge No. 1449), Ray Hubbard (Binnewith Lodge No. 6338), Jim Greenfield (Simon Langton Lodge No. 7586), David Green (Christopher Marlowe Lodge No. 8014), John Howard (Dane John Lodge No.8810) and VW Bro. Keith Hodgson (Sir Edward Elgar Lodge No. 9837).

Looking to the future, the Canterbury Mentoring Team are considering proposals for the better management of succession planning, promotion of the Mentoring Scheme within the Canterbury area and the measurement of improvements in Candidate retention.

As Chaucer might have said "keepe ye uppe tha goode wyrk!....."
