Following the Music4Martha Event held on Friday the 16th Feb, at Deal and Betteshanger Rugby Club, Deal, sponsored by (The Lord Warden Lodge), the Lodge hosted a White Table Meeting on Tuesday the 20th February. A White Table meeting is slightly different from a “normal” meeting in that, after the Lodge has started and finished, about 20 mins, Wives, Partners and Friends are invited into the main lodge for a lecture, talk or other event.

On Tuesday, the Lodge welcomed Graham Dear from the Globe and Laurel Lodge Deal No 4657, to give a talk about his time as “The Queens Body Guard of the Yeomen of the Guard”. The talk was fantastic, and with Graham explaining the different roles, the ceremonies that the Guard attend, each with its own story, the guests all left having thoroughly enjoying the talk.

The guests and members of the lodge then enjoyed a lovely festive board, enjoying great food and company. After the meal, Paul Gear presented Kerry Rubins of the Martha Trust a cheque for £700 raised from the Music4Martha event.

The Lodge would like to thank Graham for the excellent talk.
