Freemasons from St Margaret’s-at-Cliffe Give £1,500 to the Pilgrims Hospice
Bredenstone Lodge No 8093 held a Summer Ball on 8th August, presided over by Brian Hood, the lodge’s Worshipful Master, and his wife Sue. The evening was very enjoyable and succeeded in raising £1,500 for a very worthy charity.
The Ball was held in memory of Sue’s late brother Philip Doyle who sadly passed away in January. Philip spent his final days at the Pilgrims Hospice where he received excellent care and Sue and Brian were very appreciative of the way he was looked after.
Freemasons are charitable and believe in helping those less fortunate than themselves. They also recognise the benefits of cooperating with each other to achieve more. So it was that the Freemasons of Brian’s lodge, being equally grateful for the services offered by the hospice, agreed to raise funds for it at the Summer Ball.
The photograph shows Sue and Brian, on behalf of the lodge, giving a £1,500 cheque to Karen Kenwood, the Fundraising Manager at Pilgrims Hospice.
Sue and Brian wished to express their thanks to everybody who helped to make the event such a success.
