On a typical April day the golfers of East Kent beat Sussex by 4½ to 2½ at Nizels Golf Club on 5th April to retain the East Kent – Sussex Trophy for the 4th year in a row. Bob Appleby (pictured admiring his drive) and Peter Knott led the way beating Fred Moghadam (looking on) and Richard Holden 4 & 3, while East Kent’s Eddie Bennett posted the best individual score of the day with 40 points.

At the post match dinner Peter Ixer congratulated the East Kent team on their victory and said Sussex looked forward to renewing rivalries next year.
