Prior to 1961 undertook many holiday jobs in many fields – including working on Cross Channel passenger ferries, labouring at local sweet factory, fruit picking, hop picking, and Christmas work at Post Office.
1961 to 1967 Articled Clerk in Maidstone
1967 to 1971 Assistant Solicitor in private practice in rural Somerset
1971 to 2010 Solicitor practicing in Essex, and with others started own practice in 1972.
2010 Retired after many years as Senior Partner of that practice having specialised in Family Law with an emphasis on higher value financial disputes.

1979 Married Laurel a perceptive and patient Canadian. We have a son who runs his own computer consultancy and business, and a daughter who is a Solicitor with an international travel company
