Cricket Section-Introduction

The East Kent Provincial Cricket Team was launched in 1999 following a challenge from West Kent to raise funds for their 2004 Festival. Numerous East Kent victories followed and the strength of the XI grew. More recently, due to the want of available players, the strength of the XI diminished therefore enabling West Kent to enjoy successive victories.

The East Kent Provincial cricket team has now reformed under a new committee and captain whose ambition it is to regain victory at the annual cricket match with West Kent and to engage in other fixtures.

New and old players of all abilities are sought to supplement the current team.

Also, it is hoped that some days can be enjoyed together as spectators at Canterbury and perhaps further afield such as a guided tour of Lord’s, the Home of Cricket.

The Committee members are:

President     Ray Suddick
Vice President   Frank Holding
Secretary/Treasurer   Dave Warton
Communication Officer   Steve Bispham
