In the 1970s a group of members, mainly from the Kearsney, Herne Bay and Medway areas, joined together to form the South East Kent Bowling Association. At the 2009 AGM it was agreed that the name of the Association be changed to the East Kent Masonic Bowling Association to reflect the fact that it covered the whole of the Province and not a particular area within it.
Fixtures were arranged with several recognised Bowling Clubs around the Province and an Annual Match was held with West Kent. The Association was quite successful over the years and, in 2010, the team won a rink at the West Kent Provincial Charity Tournament at Dartford. The men were supported by their Ladies, who usually had a rink at all matches, and were members in their own right.
After suspending activities due to a shortage of members, the association is pleased to report that, in 2013, it reformed under the leadership of Graeme Sergeant and with the revised title of the East Kent Masonic (Charity) Bowls Section.
