The Trevor Adams Memorial Cycle Team, with friends

Trevor Adams was a popular member of St George Bahrain Lodge No 7389 until he suffered a heart attack in 2014 and sadly passed away. Trevor was a keen rugby man who enjoyed organising the catering for his lodge and, being a comical character, he kept the members amused with his practical jokes.

He was sadly missed by his fellow lodge members and a group of them, also keen rugby enthusiasts, formed the “Trevor Adams Memorial Cycle Team”.

With the London to Brighton Cycle Ride looming on the 21st June, Jason Tapp, another lodge member (on the far left of the photo), persuaded the team to enter the event. With varying fitness levels and training regimes the 54 mile route wasn’t to everyone’s taste but, with sponsorship, a sum of over £4,000 was raised.

A number of friends joined the team for the ride including Trevor’s son, Joe Adams, a keen musician (the tall man in the back row of the photo) and all but one of the team finished the ride. Those that did finish made very good time and were pleased to cross the line before Sir Richard Branson, a regular participant in the ride.

A great day was had by all and another event for the Brethren of St George Bahrain is already in the planning stages!

The other East Kent Freemasons that accompanied Jason in the team were: Phil Hindle, Ricky Hall, Dale Abercrombie and Lance Johnson.
