12 residents of Bradbury Grange, which is part of the Methodist Homes Housing Association (MHA), benefited from Chestfield Lodge’s proceeds from their 2017 ladies night held in Bournemouth. The Ladies night, hosted by Robin and Shane Davies, helped raise funds to enable some of the residents to take part in a trip to the Canterbury Garden Centre, where they had a tour of the Christmas Display followed by afternoon tea and cream cakes!

Anne Cattoor, Chair of the Friends of Bradbury Grange, explained in a letter of thanks to the Worshipful Master and the members of the Lodge, that “the 50 Residents are very well cared for, and the role of the home is to provide those extras that make life even more comfortable and enjoyable and support the staff in their work”.  The gift of £150 from the Lodge enabled the home to hire transport to the event,  Anne continued “with so many Residents using wheelchairs or walkers, specialised help is needed and can be costly”.
The home is now planning their Christmas Party, which always includes a pantomime written and performed by the volunteers. This year it will be “Snow White and the Innumerable Dwarfs”. If any guests would like to attend, it will take place at 3.00 pm on the 9th December.

Anne concluded in her letter that, ” Our next major expense will be for our Christmas gifts to every Resident which will cost us £1000, so you see we don’t waste the money we raise”.
