The Cornwallis East Kent Freemasons’ Charity has given more than £90,000 to worthy local causes during its first year of operation. As has been reported here and in the public media, these donations made a significant difference to the recipients and attracted considerable attention to the charitable nature of Freemasonry.
The giving included matched funding which enables lodges and chapters working together collaboratively, to obtain a boost to the amount they can give.
This giving was only possible thanks to the donations received from lodges, chapters and individuals throughout the year and the charity wishes to thank all those that made it possible.
In order to continue this important work, the charity needs this support to continue from lodges, chapters and individual Brethren from the Province of East Kent. CEKFC is not looking for all your charitable giving but please keep them in mind and donate when you can.
For example, it will help if you could consider giving the proceeds from the raffle at your installation or Christmas meeting. Transfers can also be made from your lodge or chapter Relief Chest.
For individuals, donation forms are available from your Charity Stewards, and a supply is kept in most Masonic Centres, so that you can also contribute to the good work of the charity. The form has a Gift Aid option for those who wish their donation to benefit from the tax that can be reclaimed. A copy of this form can be downloaded using the button below.
